Vigil

I sit vigils with patients who have no family or friends nearby and are going to pass from this life within 24-48 hours. On on occasion I sat with an elderly woman, who had been removed from oxygen and at that point her family had said their goodbye, left, and our team of Compassionate Care individuals was called in. As I sat there, not yet understanding that it was OK for the family to leave, I asked Jesus, “Where is the love?” The Holy Spirit said to me “Pick up your Bible and I will show you where it is.” I picked up my Bible and let it fall open to reveal to me Luke 17: 20-21….it says “The Kingdom of God is not for observation, nor will anyone say to you see here or see there. For indeed I tell you the Kingdom of God is within you.”
I understood where the love is. That is why our team goes.
Thank you Holy Spirit. Amen
